This gizmo looks like it may actually do what it says. Breathless
claims 6-8 HP gains between the Power Coupler and the Power Duct..
We'll see after my next trip to the dyno. But - take a look at this
intake coupler. Which one do you think causes less turbulence?
My vote is for the one on the right. Less turbulence should equal
more airflow.

The same holds true for the intake tunnel itself. According to
Breathless's web page, their version improves airflow by 30 percent.
You can tell by looking at how much bigger it is. Note the ported
MAF sensor.

Here's the complete assembly.

About Breathless Performance Products: They seemed a bit
un-organized and it took a while to get them to do anything. I was
initially interested in their carbon fiber engine dress-up components,
but the pictures on their web page (more on the web page later) were too
small to see enough detail. I called them and was promised an e-Mail
with larger images. It *never*
came. Additionally, I ordered the Power Duct in September and got
it in November. That seems like quite a while to me, especially for
a product that is "Available for immediate delivery" per their web
page. I also noticed some problems with their web page and (being
a good webmaster myself) attempted to contact their "webmaster".
Turns out that he (some guy named Denis) is no longer associated with Breathless
- the web page says he is, but he isn't. We exchanged several e-mail
flames (he figured that it was somehow my problem that his name was erroneously
on the Breathless web page) and I finally gave up. I did copy Ernie
on all the correspondence. As of this writing (11-03-2000), their
web page is still broken. You can't submit technical questions because
the form generates an error. I have submitted technical questions
directly to Ernie and he has *never* answered
me. So, they get an A for their product (looks good, instructions
clear, seems to work); a C on ordering and shipping (takes too long,
no communication, web broken) and an F on responsiveness (NO communication
unless I initiate it, busted web page, no technical support, nothing but
silence, etc.)
