To reach the bolt on the outside of the molding:
1. Turn on headlights and leave on (or manually raise the headlight hoods with the screws).
2. Remove the black plastic trim on each headlight (three Phillips screws).
3. Reach under head lamp assembly to the trim covers that surround the driving lights and feel for the position of the bolt that secures it to the front nose. This bolt is vertical, not horizontal like the other two, and is toward the outside of the car near the brake cooling ducts.
4. Remove the outside bolt.
To remove the wiring harness and remove that old moldings:
5. Snap off the wiring harnesses from molding (there are two, one running along the bottom of the molding and connecting to the hole near where the two bolts were located; the other runs along the outside of the molding and connects to a hole in the lower corner of the assembly, near the driving lights. These can require some tugging before they release.
6. Pull the molding out. repeat for other side. This can be easier said than done and will require patience and persistence. The molding will sometimes come out behind the head lamp assembly, or if you can squeeze and compress it enough, it will fit through the opening in the front nose. Be careful not to bend the driving lamp bracket. The lamp will swing up a little when the rear is pressed down. The driving lamps may need to be re-aligned after installation of the new moldings. This requires a Torx (15) screwdriver; the adjustments are accessible from holes in the molding on the outside upper corners of the lamps.
Installation of the new Cold Air Screens:
7. Insert the new molding by squeezing and compressing it to fit in the opening in the front nose. Orient the new molding and align the bolt holes (this will take some time and acrobatics). Use the three bolts and tighten carefully. Replace the wiring harnesses by inserting the plug clip in the appropriate mounting hole. Replace the plastic heat light trim, turn off the lights. Replace the air filter box. Lick your wounds. Enjoy.
