For the first set of runs, the car had the following modifications:
The second set of runs I added:
This combination of components comprise the Mongoose 400 package from Pro Auto Tech. So - doing the math, it don't look like I'm getting 400 HP. Assuming a 15% drive train loss for the 6-speed transmission, we get Gross HP=RWHP/.85=390.35. Close but no cigar.
Some other tweaking in January
of 2003 (see link below) and the addition
of a Breathless Power Duct and Bassani X-Pipe got me to 336.94 HP and 346.50
Torque (I actually had one dyno pull with 348.36 lb-ft). Better. 336.94/.85=396.4. With an air:fuel ratio
right in the 12.75:1 range. Not as much HP as some guys get, but
I'm happy now. The big issue was the 10 lb-ft increase in torque.
