I was just north of Madras as the morning sun began appearing over the horizon.  I got these shots of the sunrise and Mt. Jefferson.

Mt. Jefferson Fun Facts: Mount Jefferson is an inactive volcano in the Cascade Range and at 10,497 feet, is the second-highest mountain in Oregon. Situated in the far northeastern corner of Linn County about 60 miles (96 km) east of Corvallis, Jefferson is in a rugged wilderness and is thus one of the hardest volcanoes to reach in the Cascades.

A bit farther South, just outside of Redmond, I got these shots of the Three Sisters mountains.
Three Sisters Fun Facts:  The Three Sisters are volcanic peaks in the Cascade Range in Oregon, each of which exceed 10,000 feet (3,048 m) in elevation. They are the third, fourth, and fifth highest peaks in the state of Oregon and are located in the Three Sisters Wilderness, about 15 mi (24 km) southwest from the nearest town of Sisters, Oregon. The three peaks have 15 named glaciers among them, nearly half of all the 35 named glaciers in Oregon. The Sisters were named Faith, Hope, and Charity by early settlers
North Sister is 10,085 feet (3,074 m) high and is oldest of the three
Middle Sister at 10,047 ft (3,062 m) is the smallest and most poorly studied. It is also the middle in age
South Sister at 10,358 feet (3,157 m) is the youngest and tallest volcano of the trio. It is a stratovolcano which last erupted about 1600 years ago

Mary brought home some roses so I had to get a few closeups

Rose Number sixA rose is a flowering shrub of the genus Rosa, and the flower of this shrub. There are more than a hundred species of wild roses, all from the northern hemisphere and mostly from temperate regions. The species form a group of generally prickly shrubs or climbers, and sometimes trailing plants, reaching 2–5 meters tall, occasionally reaching as high as 20 meters by climbing over other plants. The sharp thorns of many rose species deter unauthorized persons from entering private properties, and may prevent break-ins if planted under windows and near drainpipes. The aesthetic characteristics of rose shrubs, in conjunction with their home security qualities, makes them a considerable alternative to artificial Rose shrubs are often used by homeowners and landscape architects for home security fences and walls
