So, we're on our way home one night from a walk around the neighborhood when we come across this mangy, dirty, flea-infested kitty.  Of course, she is complaining very loudly about her situation.  One thing you should never do is talk to or even make eye contact with a helpless little kitten.  This is especially true if you (or your spouse) is on some kind of animal rescue mission.  Anyway, after a trip to the kitty emergency room and several hundreds of dollars later, kitty is flea and ear mite-free and has medication for her three (3) internal parasites and is eating.  Next thing you should never do is give a stray kitten a name.  Now Lucy will join the bird, the dog, the fish and possibly some other pets in our house that I haven't found yet. cat (kat), n.
